KSM-66® Ashwagandha

Ashwagandha is a plant. KSM-66® is a branded extract made from its root. Here’s what that distinction means when you’re choosing a supplement.

What it is

KSM-66® identifies a specific branded root extract. It is used by different supplement brands, including Zenutral. The extract name identifies an ingredient, not a complete product.

The complete formula also includes the serving amount, companion ingredients, and capsule ingredients. Read them together.

Root and leaf extracts

Ashwagandha supplements may use root or a combination of root and leaf. Their composition can differ. A root-only label describes the plant part; it does not, by itself, establish that one finished supplement is better for you. See the NIH overview of ashwagandha preparations.

How it is paired

Zenutral pairs KSM-66® with black pepper extract (piperine). Ingredient research does not automatically establish how a particular combination performs. Review the product label and our buying guide to compare formulas.

The Zenutral standard

Know the plant. Understand the extract. Read the whole label.
